EFTERKLANG:

Another label that has seemingly found its finest form of late Loaf"s latest signing "Efterklang" deliver a beautifully realised debut that has had us transfixed. This Danish band boasts a remarkable lineup, a ten piece outfit that includes amongst its ranks the amazing Amina quartet plus a breathtaking arrangment of brass, piano, percussion, electronics and even a chroir from Greenland.
Their sound is very much rooted in the ethereal instrumental landscapes that Sigur Ros & Mum have delighted us with over the last view years, but the sound of "Efterklanf" is considerably more organic and reverential.

JULIEN NETO:

After contributions and remixes on various compilations around the world, the mzsterious Parisian has fibnally setteld into his home on Type Records where he has been working from the very beginning.
Very little is revealed about Julien Neto, other than the fact that he has a great talent for crafting soulful & moving electro acoustic soundscapes & a penchant for fine literature.
Yet what makes his debut album Le Fumeur De Ciel so beautifully inviting is its delicate naivety. There is something of timeless theatrics about the record, hazy childhood memories propelled by a tireless romantic melancholy - this is a work which confronts tragic loss with an unflinching honesty.
The atmosphere which Julien Neto carves are the most striking aspects of his music. With samples, rough tepe edits and disintegrated synthesiezed sounds he can manipulate imaginary worlds. Beautiful widescreen listening - one of the finest releases on Type to date.
